Course Overview:

Food is medicine — when cooked and consumed mindfully. In Ayurveda, nutrition goes beyond calories and vitamins. It is about balance, energy, and harmony with your body type (Prakriti) and the seasons.

This one-week immersive course at Ayuskama Rishikesh is designed to introduce you to the ancient wisdom of Ayurvedic nutrition. You’ll explore the fundamentals of Ayurvedic diet principles, learn to identify your dosha, and discover how herbs, spices, and seasonal ingredients can be used to create healing meals.

Through a blend of theory and hands-on cooking sessions, you will not only understand how food affects the body and mind, but also learn to prepare sattvic (pure and balanced) vegetarian meals that nourish deeply and detox gently.

6 Days (Monday to Saturday)
Class Time: 2 Hours per Day

Eligibility:

Open to all; no prior Ayurvedic or culinary background needed.

• Understanding Agni (digestive fire) and Ama (toxins)
• The Six Tastes and their role in meal planning
• Food & diet guidelines based on season and dosha
• Ayurvedic views on Sattvic, Rajasic & Tamasic foods
• Ayurvedic lifestyle & meal timing
• Hands-on Ayurvedic cooking with herbs, spices, vegetables
• Recipe preparation for common imbalances
• Mindful eating practices (Ahara-Vihara)
